Our History
Reese and Associates, Inc. was formed after Giblin Associates, Consulting Geotechnical Engineers, ceased operations in 2009, continuing to provide geotechnical services to the community under the engineering supervision of Mr. Jeffrey K. Reese, PE, and Mr. Jere A. Giblin, PE, GE, until his retirement in 2016. Initially, Reese and Associates’ staff included the remaining members of Giblin Associates but has expanded to include Robert Di Jorio, PE, GE, and Joseph M. Mauney, PE, whom became the principal engineers of the company upon Mr. Reese's retirement on January 1, 2025.
Reese and Associates were appointed as custodians of records for Giblin Associates and maintained an extensive file on numerous Giblin Associate projects between 1984 and 2009. Partial data is available on projects completed before 2000, and complete files are available for projects completed during and subsequent to 2000. This data has proved to be of great value to our staff, as well as to clients that desire to expand prior improvements.
Headquartered in Santa Rosa, the firm offers consulting services to clients in the public and private sectors. We perform geotechnical investigations, preliminary site feasibility studies, detailed subsurface explorations including geologic reconnaissance, fault studies, geophysical evaluations, soil sampling, laboratory testing, and engineering analyses. Our work is summarized in written reports. The information is used by architects, engineers, owner developers and contractors. During construction, we observe and test site preparation, excavations, placement of fills and installation of foundations.
